Bella Center Copenhagen
Facts
In 2012, Solstra assisted in acquiring a majority stake in Bella Center A/S through a significant capital increase. The current business required both a significant capital increase to secure the ongoing operations as well as a commercial turn-around.
Bella Center Copenhagen was strategically re-positioned and reorganised as the group was split into separate entities for properties, land and operations.
Bella Center Copenhagen is one of Scandinavia’s largest congress and exhibition centres, located in the middle of Ørestaden and close to the Copenhagen City Centre and Copenhagen International Airport.
The investment opportunity demanded high operational involvement. As a result, the entire group was reorganised, allowing a split of operations and properties into separate entities, creating a new operational company. Through the new operational company, Bella Center Copenhagen was re-positioned, operations were optimised, and non-strategic activities were outsourced.
To renew Bella Center Copenhagen’s operations, Solstra initiated a considerable refurbishment of the permanent showrooms together with the development of both a new logistic centre and a new multipurpose exhibition hall called Bella Arena. Bella Arena is a conference hall constructed based on sustainable principles and certified with DGNB Gold.
Bella Arena provides Copenhagen with even more opportunities for hosting international events as it is one of Northern Europe’s largest congress halls with the ability to host 7,000 seated or 8,600 standing guests and includes a large foyer for breakouts during events.
