Crowne Plaza
Facts
Hotel Crowne Plaza is part of the building complex of Copenhagen Towers in Ørestaden and operated under a franchise from Intercontinental Hotel Group (ING). The hotel facilities include a business centre, club lounge, restaurants, ballroom, and fitness centre.
Solstra acquired the hotel operator as part of the Copenhagen Towers project as the value creation was interlinked and deemed essential to control both assets to unlock the full potential.
The acquisition of Crowne Plaza was based on a strategic business plan that included a continued ramp-up and re-positioning of the hotel to tap into new customer segments to generate higher revenue streams as the hotel was first and foremost a business/airline hotel at the time of the acquisition.
In 2021, the Crowne Plaza operation was sold to Bella Group to harvest further operational synergies between its hotel and conference business
Copenhagen Towers is one of the greenest buildings in the world with a LEED Platinum certification.
Sustainability is the DNA of Copenhagen Towers, and the Crowne Plaza branded hotel has won several awards such as “World’s Greenest Hotel” and “Most Cutting-Edge Green Hotel in the World”.
Furthermore, Crowne Plaza is part of and follows the standards of the Bella Groups group-wide ESG policies, “Responsible hospitality report”, which is updated yearly.
