In 2013, Solstra acquired the 85,000 sqm construction project Copenhagen Towers, designed by Foster+Partners. The hotel was completed in 2009, and the construction of the office complex had just begun at the acquisition time.
Under the management of Solstra, Copenhagen Towers was completed in 2016 and is today one of Denmark’s most sustainable office and hotel complexes comprising high-quality multi-tenant offices, a 4-star Crowne Plaza hotel with a conference centre. The high quality, sustainable office building and the synergies between office and hotel operations attracted multiple international blue-chip tenants.
In 2019, Copenhagen Towers was sold to the Swedish real estate investor NIAM. The sale of Copenhagen Towers became 2019’s largest real estate transaction in Denmark.
Copenhagen Towers is one of the greenest buildings in the world with a LEED Platinum certification.
Sustainability is the DNA of Copenhagen Towers, and the Crowne Plaza branded hotel has won several awards such as “World’s Greenest Hotel” and “Most Cutting-Edge Green Hotel in the World”.
Several recycled materials were used in the construction phase, including 60,000 meters of wood panels and 100% recycled plastic for the ceiling. In addition, 75 large trees were planted inside the building to create an excellent indoor climate.
